There are many events hosted by the various Oxford Colleges and departments. A handy summary can be found in this University-wide calendar. A few are highlighted below:


Mathematical Institute and Department of Statistics Open Days

The Mathematical Institute and the Department of Statistics are delighted to host a joint open day on Saturday 29th April. Students can choose to spend the whole day at the Mathematical Institute, or the morning at the Mathematical Institute and the afternoon with the Department of Statistics.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to see the departments, experience lectures by our academics, and chat to current undergraduates and tutors.

Parents are very welcome and have their own series of talks in the afternoon about finance and pastoral support. Colleges will be open to visitors after the event.

 

Further Maths – What Next?

Hosted by: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics + other science departments

Date of Event: Thursday 6 July 2017

Who is it for? Year 12s studying Further Maths and expecting at least AAA

Where is it held? Mathematical Institute

Description: This day draws together subject areas from across the University who are looking for

prospective students with a real aptitude for Maths. Attendees will attend a range of short taster

sessions on subjects that list Further Maths as either a ‘highly desirable’ or ‘helpful’ A-level for

Oxford applicants to have.

Maximum bookings per school: 5 (exceptions can be made for large cohorts of Further Maths

students)

Total places available: 300

Cost: Free

Corpus Christi College – Schools Science Prize

Corpus Christi College, Oxford are delighted to be running our annual Schools Science Prize, for which the categories this year are Biochemistry, Chemistry and Medical Sciences. Students from Year 11 and 12 are invited to enter, and the deadline for submissions is May 5th. Corpus Christi College – Legal Reasoning Prize

As part of a new initiative, Corpus Christi College are launching an annual prize in Legal Reasoning Prize. Open to sixth form students, this prize requires entrants to engage with a legal document and summarise their responses to it. Corpus Christi College – Law Residential

In addition to our new Legal Reasoning Prize, Corpus Christi College are also delighted to be running our first Law Residential Event. Aimed at Year 12 students, this will take place on June 27-28th 2017. Running from mid-morning on the 27th, accommodation will be provided for attendees that evening to allow them to attend the university open day on the 28th. The event itself will consist of talks and workshops to give a taste of the academic study of Law, with plenty of opportunity to meet tutors and current students.
