Le Cercle Français  2013 – 2014  

For those who: are learning French, love France or are French nationals.

 Le Cercle Français meets on the Fourth Friday of the month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

The programme this year includes:

Ma Normandie –  Brian Verity illustrates with slides a variety of towns and countryside in this large region.

Le théâtre pour tous – Claudette Flint and some friends perform extracts from humorous plays.

Un « Quiz de Pub » – Light-hearted team fun led by Carol Flett and Annie Pritchard.

La Politique en France d’après guerre jusqu’à nos jours – Sophie Kutz is our speaker.

Reading Film Festival

RFT is your local not-for-profit independent cinema. It is based in the Palmer Building on the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus and is open to everyone. The large auditorium seats 400, has a full-sized screen and Dolby sound.  Ticket prices are kept low to benefit all.

A range of independent, art-house and foreign language films (subtitled in English) are shown as well as the occasional blockbuster. Most films are recent releases but sometimes include a classic and events with pre-film talks and introductions.

Goethe Institut

The Goethe Institut is Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide.

The study of German is promoted abroad and international cultural exchange encouraged. Knowledge about Germany is fostered by providing information on its culture, society and politics. Educational and training products enable mobility in an international learning community.
