What is a Masterclass?
A Masterclass is a two hour session which provides a snapshot of information as an introduction to that specific subject area. All sessions are interactive and engaging, although no practical ‘hands on’ activity will be included. This is an excellent alternative to a Taster Day where schools and colleges are unable to commit to a full day’s activity.
Masterclass Schedule
UNI24: Residential experience – providing a taster to university life!
UNI24 will be held on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th July 2017. It is a residential experience for students in Year 12. This free of charge residential gives students an insight into life on campus at the University of Winchester.
Students will arrive on campus at Lunchtime on Tuesday 18th July, stay overnight in the student accommodation and depart approx. 24 hours later on Wednesday 19th July. Daytime activities include lecture-style sessions about general university life and also team building activities. Evening entertainment will be provided on campus. Accommodation will be provided on campus for one night, free of charge. Catering will also be provided.
Teaching staff and parents/guardians are not required to attend UNI24 with the students. University staff will be responsible for the attendees, in particular with regard to their health, safety and welfare.
UNI24 aims to inspire and engage young people and to encourage them to consider higher education, in a fun and interactive environment. Students will be expected to abide by signed Code of Conduct set by the university.
Students and their parents/guardians will be expected to attend an information evening for UNI24 3-4 weeks before the event.
