Week beginning 25th April

time3 school weeks left for Year 12 now, 5 for Year 13…

Although studying should be your main focus, it is important to think ahead.  Several students are thinking about open day visits.  The best time for Year 12s to do these is after the exams in June and July.  Follow the link under UCAS at the top of this page to the excellent Open Days page.  The main bulk of them occur in this period.  It’s best not to be doing too many in September/October.

Lots of unis require that you apply for these days and will note that you’ve visited and this will be flagged on any future application you make.  It shows that you are interested in them and have made the effort.  Also, don’t forget this Oxford Brookes Summer: what is going to make you stand out from other applicants?  Something like this will help.

If you are thinking of careers/work, then unifrog collates all available apprenticeships and Mrs Wooller and Maurice, our equally excellent Adviza link, are always available.  Get in early before the rush.

DRESS CODE: PLEASE FOLLOW IT.  NO JEANS.  NO RIPPED JEANS.  WE REALLY DON’T WANT TO GO MORE FORMAL BUT MAY BE FORCED TO IF OUR REASONABLE STANDARDS ARE NOT FOLLOWED.
