Question Time – The end of the United Kingdom ?

Question_time_logo2If you have not yet discovered Question Time, then you really should. It is where key issues of the day are debated in a one hour show on the BBC. This edition would appear a particularly good place to start as it touches on two things that relate to you.

1. Next year Scotland will vote to decide if it wants to remain in the United Kingdom. In other words, is this the beginning of the end of our unique country ?

2. In this referendum, 16 and 17 year olds will have the vote. In this special programme they make up the audience, and this raises the question – should you have the vote at 16 rather than 18?

Have a look and see what you think.

Mr Kydd.

STOP PRESS – This is the link to last night’s edition which includes Russell Brand and Boris Johnson.

UCAS taster days

ucas-logoAll,

I hope that you found the UCAS launch helpful. At the time of writing the UCAS 2014 system has still not been made live. I know that this is very frustrating, but it will be soon, and when it is we will let you know. Moreover, there is still plenty for you to do. We have just received some excellent information here about free taster courses at universities in the South East.

This is what they say about themselves;

The Taster Course Programme provides year 12 sixth form students with a taste of what life at a university in London is like.  Through your chosen taster course you will experience the different teaching methods used by university academics and gain an insight into the additional facilities available, whilst meeting students from across the UK.

All our taster courses are free to attend and you can choose a course from a variety of subjects taking place at the numerous participating universities. Courses range from voice and drama, to medicine and nursing, to computing and business.

Have a look and see what you think.

Mr Hand.
